of work, music and floorball / 12:43 AM

i know life is sad when i'm up at this hour chionging a h3 econs case study, after coming home from training at 10+.

i know life is sadder when i've turned on the music to... tune out the lonely silence of the moment.

i've forgotten, however, that listening to the wrong songs can make you even lonelier, which brings us to a nick hornby-esque question:

is it the loneliness that got you listening to the music in the first place, or is it the music that makes you truly lonely?

(nick hornby is an awesome author by the way - probably one of the best contemporary writers, when it comes to capturing the modern male psyche.)

on a brighter note, i can feel myself improving with every training, and this friday will be the time to translate those gains into better in-game performances. after it's how we do on court that really counts, no?

anyway, it falls to coach to decide if i'm really getting better, and whether my "getting better" is good enough. "control the controllables, and forget about the uncontrollables", 'tis what they teach us, and it can't get truer in our predicament.

focus on your own performance (controllable), accept whatever coach makes of it (uncontrollable), and then do something about it (controllable). and so on.

for the win, raffles floorball.

/ open up your mind;
But I won't hesitate no more,
No more, it cannot wait
I'm yours

/ damn, you're free;

hits!
