i've often wondered where my fascination with the fantasy genre of novels came from.

it's since struck me recently that this passion for the fantasy genre is probably just an extension of my childhood dreams of swords and dragons, and whatever faerie stuff that boys dream of.

of fighting for honour, for glory (concepts that hardly mean anything to one that young, but seem pretty cool anyway), for the hand of the fairest maiden in the land.

it's what fairytales (with a somewhat chauvinistic tint) do to one like me anyway.

speaking of fairytales, i'm increasingly convinced that fairytales didn't tell us complete lies about life after all.

true loves probably do exist, but unlike in fairytales, the chances of one ending up with one's true love are probably... remote. zilch comes pretty close too.

ah well.

/ open up your mind;
But I won't hesitate no more,
No more, it cannot wait
I'm yours

/ damn, you're free;

hits!
